1. IDENTIFY THE GIFTS OF FAMILY MEMBERS
Reflect as a family on the unique gifts and talents of each person received through baptism and how they can be used in service to the Church
2. PRAY
Prayer is undoubtedly the most essential. Commit to pray for this intention
3. OFFER FRIENDSHIP TO PRIESTS
Whether with a meal or simply having a conversation, share friendship with priests. Friendships will foster awareness and respect for the priestly lifestyle
4. PARTICIPATE IN PARISH ACTIVITIES
Involving your family in parish activities will help create the life-giving environment necessary for nurturing priestly vocations
5. TELL STORIES
Share when a priest showed kindness to you and helped make a positive difference. Have the children share an experience, too. Talk about what these men mean to you and the services they offer to God’s people.
6. SAY "THANK YOU"
Thank a priest, encourage him, help him know his generosity is appreciated and his service to the parish community is recognized.
7. ATTEND MASS
Celebrating the Eucharist is fundamental to our faith. Bring the children! Gathering around the Lord’s table strengthens the bonds in your own family and in the parish family. Strong parishes produces priestly vocations.
8. SEND CARDS
Discover the anniversary of your priests' ordination and celebrate it. Assure them of your prayers and support
9. PERFORM ACTS OF CHARITY
Jesus directs us to love our neighbor and to serve one another. Find ways your family can generously meet the needs of your neighbors. A charitable heart is a hallmark of a priestly vocation.
10. REMEMBER YOUR HOME IS THE “DOMESTIC CHURCH”
Parents are the first preachers of the faith to their children, and the home is where early formation occurs. Create a home climate that encourage all members to live out the vocation that God has planned for them. Pray, talk about your faith and vocations to the priesthood. Let youerhome truly be a dwelling place for the Lord!
